Is the CASP Certification changing in 2018?
CompTIA has announced that the CASP certification will be changing their exam in 2018. The CAS-002 certification, launched on January 20, 2015, will be transitioning to CAS-003, which has a launch date of April 2, 2018. If you are currently studying for CAS-002, this version of the exam will not be retired until October 2, 2018.
When does registration begin for the 2018 Courses?

Where can I find the locations for the 2018 exams?
All CompTIA certification exam testing is provided by CompTIA’s global testing partner, Pearson VUE, and as a result, all CompTIA exams can be written at one of the many Pearson VUE testing centers. When you are confident that you have prepared enough to certify your CASP and you’re ready to take your exam, then visit Pearson VUE’s website.
From here, you will be able to find an authorized Pearson VUE test center near your location so that you can schedule your exam. Candidates are able to select the testing center of their choice when scheduling to write the exam.
How is the CASP exam scored?
Unlike some other tests, the CASP is scored on a Pass/Fail scoring system. This means that candidates that pass or fail will not receive a score of how they did in the exam. Only a Pass/Fail result will be made available to them upon completion of the examination.
How many questions are in the CASP exam?
There are a maximum of 90 questions in the CASP exam. The question types include the following:

The total length of the exam is 165m (2H 45m).
When will I receive my exam results?
Results are received immediately after completing the exam on screen, an email is also sent with the pass or fail result after the exam has been completed.
What are Performance Based Questions (PBQ)?
A Performance Based Question, or PBQ, is a simulated exercise that seeks to test a candidates practical, hands-on abilities. The question will present the candidate with a virtual desktop that is indistinguishable from a real server or computer, and then ask the candidate to perform a task. What is the recommended employment experience for candidates?
Those that wish to take the CASP exam should have at least 10 years of experience in an IT administrative role, with at least 5 years in an information security role.

What is the CompTIA Continual Education program?
CompTIA has a Continuing Education (CE) program that allows candidates to keep their certification up to date. It allows IT professionals to learn about any changes to certain CompTIA certifications, and about any changes within the course as well. Continuing Education assists candidates by staying current with newer technologies and techniques within IT security profession, making it a valuable tool for IT specialists that have already completed a CompTIA certification that requires Continuing Education.
