Information architects build software that presents data to users in the most useful way possible. They identify flaws in the system and help work with developers and other architects to improve the way data is presented to people who manage that data. Information architects work with designers, engineers, and project managers to produce a well-formed information system platform. These platforms could be for external customers or internal employees. They also create workflows that help users perform tasks more efficiently.

Information architects work closely with marketing teams to build designs and interfaces that keep users coming back to the product. The product could be a cloud or desktop application.
